More brands are taking sustainable path with Sympatex

Among the renowned international winter sports and fashion brands that belong to the Sympatex apparel portfolio are Element (Boardriders Group/US), Roeckl sports (Germany), Wear Colour (Sweden) and Ziener (Germany). Other long-time Sympatex partners such as Bleed Organic Clothing (Germany), Billabong (Boardriders Group/US) and DC Shoes (Boardriders Group/US), as well as Nobis (Canada), Northland (Austria), Rossignol (France) and Rotauf (Switzerland) will once again rely on a sustainable partnership with Sympatex for the next winter season. Freeride brand Lagoped (France), Swiss running specialists from ON, as well as Innsbruck glove specialist Zanier are also maintaining a sustainable course with the Munich functional apparel specialist.

Under the motto ‘Be one with the elements’, Ziener has developed the new Ex4 line of sustainable apparel. The freeride-oriented line, which relies on a timeless look with classic colours, is the Oberammergau company’s new flagship product. The Ex4 line will be available for the 2020/2021 winter season and for the first time and will use recycled, non-PFC/PTFE Sympatex membranes incorporated into the triple-layer Sabur Man / Safura Lady jacket, the matching three-layer functional Singu Man / Sadya Lady pants, as well as the extremely warm, matching Germano PR ski glove model.

For the 2020/2021 winter season, glove specialist Roeckl Sports will be introducing its brand-new Eco Series featuring 100 per cent recyclable and climate-neutral, non-PTFE/non-PFC membranes from Sympatex. The launch will encompass six ski glove models, two each for women, men and children, with a design that conserves resources wherever possible. The six models boast a high percentage of recycled or recyclable materials and contain no PFCs – all without sacrificing superior performance.

Following on the heels of DC Shoes and Billabong, both of which have relied on Sympatex materials for three years in a row, Element will now be the third brand from US-based Boardriders Inc to integrate the sustainable Sympatex portfolio. All three new jacket models - Koto Tech, Alder Tech and Pinewood Tech – are made from 100 per cent recycled two-layer Sympatex laminates and boast features such as an ergonomic fit, storm guard flaps and fully-insulated hoods. With an innovative design and ideal weather protection, these stylish functional jackets stand out from the crowd.
