  • MS Printing Solutions and JK Group will unveil revolutionary digital printing products at ITMA 2023.
  • The highlight is a unique system that optimises pigment printing, reducing CO2 emissions and water consumption.
  • Key components include a reengineered JP7 digital scanning printing machine, an ad-hoc dryer, Digistar Pigment 4K ink, and more.
MS Printing Solutions and JK Group will be participating in ITMA 2023 and will be present in Hall 7, Booth D206 at Fiera Milano Rho in Italy from June 8–14, 2023. The company is set to present a range of digital printing products and solutions at the event.

The companies’ R&D team has developed a unique system that changes the approach to pigment printing, enabling the reduction of CO2 emissions and the water consumption of the entire process, thanks to integrated innovative solutions, to halve printing process steps with a chemistry that doesn’t require pre- and post-treatment and to perfectly manage and reproduce colour charts with an increase in colour yield up to 20 per cent, MS Printing Solutions and JK Group said in a joint press release.

The new solution is composed of a number of innovative components. First, there is a completely reengineered JP7, a digital scanning printing machine designed to print pigment. Its goal is to significantly cut down water and energy consumption through new, integrated, and innovative tech solutions.

Second, an ad-hoc dryer has been created specifically for this system. It is capable of drying and polymerising on the fly, ensuring optimal use conditions and maximum control. Moreover, it curtails CO2 emissions throughout the entire process by reducing the space required for the manufacturing line within the plant.

The third component is Digistar Pigment 4K, the JK Group’s newest ink that’s so innovative that it is patent-pending. This ink doesn’t necessitate pre- or post-treatment and is specifically designed for this system. In this environment, it diminishes the digital printing process steps by half, completely eradicates water consumption, and significantly reduces energy use.

Fourth, there’s the System Plus Software, the new management software that integrates calibration, printing software, and ink to provide impeccable colour management. It guarantees an improved colour yield of up to 20 per cent while enhancing efficiency.

The overarching objective of The New Era of Single Pass is to conceive a new generation of single pass machines. This will be realised through a masterful combination that merges the versatility and size of a scanning machine with the speed, immediacy, and printing automation of a single pass machine. Considered a true revolution in the single pass concept, it is designed with an emphasis on sustainability due to the reduced space requirement. There’s also an opportunity to preview the new AI system being developed to significantly enhance print quality output.

Take a step into R&D with a real concept machine, a revolution of the historical JP4, equipped with all the innovative solutions set to be introduced in the near future. Starting with new electronics and printheads, it progresses to a new power system and a new system for qualitatively analysing in-line prints, and much more.

Finally, MS Heritage, MiniLario, is included in the solution. This was the first scanning machine equipped with 64 printheads, and viewed as the true revolution of ITMA 2019. It has now become part of the company’s heritage, with over 20 machines installed and operational. Its printing carriage positioning has been revised and improved to offer even more reliability and to take full advantage of its speed, which is among the highest today. MiniLario will print Digistar Reactive BIB, a product of JK. The Bag-in-Box (BIB) continues to offer increasing sustainable benefits and environmental respect, all while maintaining the usual top-quality of the inks.

The list of new products and services to be revealed at ITMA 2023 continues. A new organisational model is part of the mix, with a strong focus on improvement. The objective is to swiftly achieve an expanded global footprint, enhanced operational efficiencies, and quicker business exchanges. The end result is an extremely scalable model, capable of rapidly expanding production in response to peak demand and seasonality, thereby simplifying the oversight of the supply chain.

Furthermore, a new range of services, such as their Maintenance Programme, has revolutionised the Service department and its operational methods by reducing costs, increasing productivity, and ensuring optimal performance of machines.

A new portfolio of dryers will also be introduced. These dryers have been designed not only for the new pigment system, but also to complement each of the machines. Their modular design allows for simultaneous curing and drying, reducing costs and the necessary space, and thus impacting CO2 emissions.

In addition, the ever-improving series of inks, complete with waveforms dedicated to MS machines, aim to ensure the best control of ink drops, leading to high-quality printing results.

Visitors can check out these new innovations at the assigned booth and witness demo sessions.
