Poland’s general business climate indicators for December 2023 are reported to be at similar or lower levels compared to November, signalling a cautious or negative perception amongst business entities. Except for retail trade, all surveyed sectors' business climate indicators are below their long-term mean, as per Statistics Poland.The sector-specific indicators highlight the variations across industries. Manufacturing, a key sector for the Polish economy, reported a significant drop in its business climate indicator from minus 12.1 in November to minus 14.4 in December.
December 2023 sees a downturn in Poland's general business climate, with most sectors, especially manufacturing, showing decreased optimism, reports Statistics Poland.
Except for the slightly more resilient retail trade, all sectors are below their long-term mean, indicating a pervasive cautious or negative business sentiment across industries.
Similarly, wholesale trade experienced a decline, although less severe, from minus 0.9 to minus 2.1 over the same period. Retail trade, somewhat resilient, still showed a decrease in the business climate indicator, moving from minus 0.2 to minus 1.9, Statistics Poland said in a statement.
