The positive balance reached PLN 18.4 billion, while it amounted to PLN 18.3 billion in the same period of 2023.
Exports decreased by 9.9 per cent and imports by 10.3 per cent in the first four months this year compared to the corresponding period last year.
Exports expressed in US dollars amounted to $126.8 billion, while imports amounted to $122.1 billion (a decrease in exports of 1.1 per cent and in imports of 1.5 per cent). The positive trade balance reached $4.6 billion, while it was $4.2 billion in the same period last year, a Statistics Poland release said.
Poland had the largest share of 86.4 per cent in total exports with developed countries and in imports, it was 66.4 per cent compared to 87.2 per cent and 65.3 per cent respectively in the corresponding period of 2023.
However, the smallest share was observed with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which in total exports amounted to 5.2 per cent, and in imports, 2 per cent, compared with 4.7 per cent and 2.9 per cent respectively in January-April last year.
Negative trade balance was recorded with developing countries.
