Poland's gross domestic product (GDP) growth decelerated in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2023, according to the flash estimate of Statistics Poland. The country's GDP, measured in volume terms and not seasonally adjusted, saw a year-to-year increase of just 1 per cent, a significant slowdown from the 2.5% growth recorded in the same period of 2022.Despite this slowdown, when adjusted for seasonality and based on constant prices with 2015 as the reference year, GDP in Q4 2023 managed to maintain the same level as observed in the previous quarter. Moreover, this seasonally adjusted GDP marked a 1.7 per cent rise compared to the fourth quarter of the previous year.
GDP growth in Poland decelerated to 1 per cent in Q4 2023 from 2.5 per cent in the same period of 2022.
Despite the slowdown, seasonally adjusted GDP in Q4 2023 remained stable compared to the previous quarter and increased by 1.7 per cent YoY.
Seasonally unadjusted GDP also saw a 1 per cent growth compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The seasonally unadjusted GDP, calculated using constant average prices of the previous year, experienced a 1 per cent increase compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, as per Statistics Poland.
