Re-polyester filament yarn eases 1.7% in Chinese market in one month

Recycled polyester filament yarn has seen a drop of 1.7 per cent in its pricing in the Chinese market over the past month. The prices fell to CNY 7,232.85 per MT (approximately $991.56), down from a monthly high of CNY 7,357 per MT. This decline is attributed to slow economic growth in China and a global downturn in Chinese exports, impacting the demand for raw materials across the textile value chain.

Recycled polyester filament yarn (POY 150D/96F) was priced at CNY 7,263.68 per MT in the Chinese domestic market in the last week of July 2023. It rose to CNY 7,357 per MT in the first week of this month. However, the prices fell to CNY 7,232 per MT in the second half of this month, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.

The FOB price of the same product in the Chinese market also showed a similar trend. It fell to $1,030.50 per MT from $1,074.23 per MT in the first week of this month. While the prices exhibited volatility, they remained range bound.

Recycled PET bottle flake (for close virgin PSF) was priced steadily at CNY 5,550 per MT in the Chinese domestic market. Recycled PET bottle flake (for hollow conjugated re-PSF) was priced at CNY 5,650 per MT. Recycled PET bottle flake (for re-PFY) was sold at CNY 5,650 per MT, according to TexPro.

In the Chinese domestic market, re-PET chip (for re-PFY) was sold at CNY 8,025 per MT, re-polyester staple fibre (1.4D*38mm) was priced at CNY 6,560.94, and re-polyester staple fibre (7-15D*64mm hollow conjugated) was priced at CNY 7,260 per MT.
