Tashkent Textile Week, a key event in Uzbekistan’s textile calendar, is expected to attract professionals from around the world. Attendees will include representatives of international organisations and national textile associations, CEOs of major global retail and apparel brands, specialist media editors, local businesses, and investors.
The 3-day UzTextileExpo, commencing on May 29, is predicted to draw over 9,000 industry experts, marking the start of the TTW. Notably, for the first time, more than ten German companies and manufacturers will participate with a national display, following a high-level visit to Germany. National pavilions from Belarus and India will also be featured.
During the event, a collaborative initiative backed by the German government will be unveiled. Furthermore, a briefing in conjunction with the German Textile Confederation is slated to take place.
May 30 will see the Tashkent Textile Forum alongside the ‘II International Conference’ of the Confederation of Employers of Uzbekistan. The conference will see support from the International Labour Organization, the UN European Development Commission, the German organisation GIZ, and the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF). Panel discussions will delve into various topics like social entrepreneurship, sustainable production secrets, supply chain transparency, and digitalisation in modern textile technologies.
Training sessions on a wide range of topics including women’s entrepreneurship development in the textile industry, supplier requirements for EU exports, trends and forecasts for 2023-2024, innovative management and manufacturing solutions, and corporate governance in clusters will feature prominently in the week’s programme.
In a first, Fibre2Fashion will present a Knowledge Paper titled ‘Sustainable Fashion: Greening the Supply Chain’ at the event. Additionally, press tours are organised for both foreign and local journalists to different regions of the republic.
Throughout the week, local enterprises will have the opportunity to forge new export contracts, explore novel projects and cooperation solutions, and exhibit their products to representatives from over 40 countries worldwide.

Besides Khaydarov, Uzbekistan’s Deputy PM Jamshid Khodjaev, Ambassador of Germany to Uzbekistan Dr. Tilo Klinner, and ITMF Director-General Dr. Christian Schindler are among the notable persons who will speak at the event.
