On the twelve months moving averages basis, the rate of change in Turkiye’s CPI was 72.31 per cent in December 2022, as per the data by TurkStat.
In December 2022, transportation with minus 4.14 per cent was the main group that indicated the lowest monthly increase. On the other hand, clothing and footwear reported a monthly decline of 1.3 per cent.
Within indices of 144 basic headings (Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose-COICOP 5 Digit Level) in the index, the index of 24 basic headings decreased and the index of 9 basic headings remained unchanged while the index of 111 basic headings increased.
The rate of change in CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold was 1.94 per cent on a monthly basis, and on a yearly basis, the rate of change was 57.68 per cent in December 2022, and on the twelve months moving averages basis, the rate of change in CPI was 62.93 per cent.
