While the country’s retail turnover with current prices jumped by 114.8 per cent in July 2022 compared with the same month of the previous year, it surged by 2.6 per cent compared to June 2022, according to a press release by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). Moreover, retail sales volume with constant prices increased by 2.0 per cent in July 2022 compared with the same month of 2021.
Retail sales volume with constant prices decreased by 0.3 per cent in July 2022 compared with June 2022. In July 2022, textiles, clothing, and footwear sales decreased by 1.1 per cent.
The annual changes regarding retail sales indices refer to the change of calendar adjusted index values compared to the same month of the previous year. Monthly changes in retail sales indices denote the change in seasonally and calendar adjusted index values compared to the previous month.
