The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will set up the UAE- Bangladesh Joint Business Council in Dubai to tap the business and investment potential in countries in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. The Business council will be launched during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to the United Arab Emirates this month.The council will be co-chaired by the FBCCI president and the chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
FBCCI president Mohammad Jashim Uddin said this initiative will create an opportunity to explore new markets in the period after Bangladesh graduates from the least developed country (LDC) status, Bangla media reported.

Syed Muntasir Mamun, director general of the International Trade and Investment wing of the ministry of foreign affairs, recommended seeking UAE investment in information and communication technology, IT-enabled services, artificial intelligence, private equity, aviation, shipping and value-added agro services.
