Vietnam exported goods worth $336.25 billion last year, up 19 per cent year over year (YoY), while its total imports were at $332.25 billion, up 26.5 per cent YoY, Huong told a press conference.
The country’s total foreign trade in the month of December reached $66.5 billion, increasing by 6.4 per cent month-on-month and 19.7 per cent YoY.
The export turnover for about 35 commodities from Vietnam exceeded $1 billion, out of which 8 products exceeded the $10 billion mark.
The US was the biggest export market, accounting for $95.6 billion turnover, while China was the biggest import market at a revenue of $109.9 in 2021. Vietnam’s trade surplus with EU was about $23 billion, and its trade deficit with China was $54 billion.
Vietnam aims to support enterprises and promote exports in 2022 by strengthening export markets, implementing FTAs and minimising challenges, according to minister of industry and trade Nguyen Hong Dien.
