Supply chain tracing is crucial for all fashion brands because it ensures that the materials they use, and the processes involved in making their products, align with their ethical standards. This transparency is essential for maintaining sustainability standards and reducing environmental impact. As consumers become more conscious of sustainability, the demand for traceable supply chains will only grow.

What You Can Expect from the Seminar

The seminar will focus on key strategies for fostering collaboration among brands, manufacturers, and forwarders, with a strong emphasis on integrating technology into supply chain management and promoting sustainable production practices.

Attendees can look forward to insights from a real-world practitioner as Evelyn draws from her experiences to share actionable strategies for navigating the ever-evolving landscape of sustainability in the fashion industry. She plans to unravel the complexities of supply chain tracing by focusing on its essential elements: data collection, transparency, and accountability. "We will explore how these components ensure every step of the supply chain is monitored and recorded, leveraging practical tools and technologies that facilitate this process," Gibson explains.

Addressing common misconceptions, Evelyn will demystify supply chain tracing, often perceived as costly and complex, particularly for smaller brands. She clarifies, "Supply chain tracing is not just feasible but also beneficial for brands of all sizes. It enhances operational efficiency and risk management, debunking the myth that it only serves the end consumer."

The Role of Technology in Sustainability

Highlighting the role of technological advancements in optimal supply chain tracing, Gibson will also give a sneak peek at WFX’s own Fashion Traceability Software during the event. This new module will be pivotal in advancing supply chain tracing in the fashion industry by providing comprehensive tools that integrate seamlessly with existing systems, offering real-time visibility, analytics, and reporting capabilities.

For those new to supply chain tracing, Gibson will share practical tips on getting started and setting the right priorities. “From how to conduct a thorough audit of your current supply chain to leveraging technology to automate and streamline data collection and establishing clear communication channels with all stakeholders—the seminar is must-attend for anyone interesting supply chain traceability,” she noted.

The Global Sourcing Expo is a premier event that brings together over 400 exhibitors from around the world, creating a unique platform for industry leaders, suppliers, and buyers to connect and collaborate. Concurrently, the Global Sourcing Seminar Series offers attendees the latest insights and knowledge across various facets of the fashion industry.
