India's leading textile firms report mixed performance in FY24

Trident Ltd

Trident Ltd reported a revenue of ₹67.304 billion (approximately $805.56 million) in FY24, an increase from ₹62.674 billion in FY23. However, the company faced a decline in net profit, registering ₹3.895 billion in FY24 compared to ₹4.219 billion in the previous fiscal year. Earnings per share (EPS) also dropped from ₹0.84 to ₹0.78. Despite this, the company improved its operational efficiency with an operating profit margin (OPM) of 15.32 per cent, up from 15.03 per cent in FY23. The net profit margin (NPM) decreased to 5.79 per cent from 6.73 per cent.

Welspun Living Ltd

Welspun Living Ltd demonstrated substantial growth in FY24, with revenue soaring to ₹80.848 billion (approximately $967.67 million), a significant rise from ₹56.546 billion in FY23. The net profit experienced an impressive jump, reaching ₹5.959 billion, compared to ₹1.516 billion in the previous fiscal year. This remarkable performance is reflected in the EPS, which increased from ₹1.54 to ₹6.18. The company's OPM improved to 14.40 per cent from 9.51 per cent, and the NPM rose to 7.37 per cent from 2.68 per cent.

Vardhman Textiles Ltd

Vardhman Textiles Ltd reported a revenue of ₹92.986 billion (approximately $1.11 billion) in FY24, slightly down from ₹98.407 billion in FY23. The net profit for FY24 stood at ₹6.076 billion, a decrease from ₹7.490 billion in the previous fiscal year. Correspondingly, the EPS dropped from ₹25.91 to ₹21.01. The company's OPM slightly decreased to 13.89 per cent from 15.02 per cent, and the NPM fell to 6.53 per cent from 7.61 per cent.

Arvind Ltd

Arvind Ltd's revenue in FY24 amounted to ₹71.004 billion (approximately $849.8 million), down from ₹77.226 billion in FY23. The net profit decreased to ₹3.049 billion, compared to ₹3.459 billion in the previous fiscal year. The EPS also fell from ₹13.49 to ₹11.66. However, the company improved its OPM, which increased to 10.81 per cent from 10.06 per cent. The NPM slightly decreased to 4.29 per cent from 4.48 per cent.
