Goyal noted that the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) has already boosted bilateral trade. He called for newer industry and business propositions to further enhance this partnership. Key collaborations mentioned include the India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor and initiatives promoting Rupay, alongside facilitating direct trade between the rupee and dirham, the ministry of commerce and industry said in a press release.
The minister acknowledged the significant contributions of the minister of state for foreign trade, UAE, Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, and the chairman and CEO of DP World Group, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem to the strong India-UAE ties. He particularly highlighted the plan to establish a Bharat Park in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, under the guidance of Sulayem, viewing it as a pivotal step towards expanding international trade opportunities and enhancing India's global presence.
