The US' exports of home textiles to North America were $442.844 million in the first four months of the current year, accounting for 48.69 per cent of the total outbound shipments. Exports to Central and South America amounted to $217.128 million during the same period, making up 23.87 per cent of the total. Trade with both American continents totalled $659.972 million, representing 72.60 per cent of the total home textile exports from the country, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
During the first four months of this year, US home textile exports to the Asia-Pacific region were $111.802 million (12.29 per cent), Europe $93.759 million (10.31 per cent), Africa $22.133 million (2.43 per cent), and the Middle East $21.854 million (2.40 per cent).
Country-wise analysis indicated that Canada was the largest market for home textile exports from the US during the period under review. Shipments to Canada were valued at $237.982 million, which was 26.17 per cent of the total exports. Another neighbouring country, Mexico, was the second-largest market, with shipments of $204.861 million, accounting for 22.52 per cent of the total. Shipments to both neighbouring countries totalled 48.69 per cent of the total exports, as per TexPro.
Shipments to Guatemala were $61.925 million (6.81 per cent), Honduras $26.307 million (2.89 per cent), Chile $26.217 million (2.88 per cent), the Dominican Republic $25.753 million (2.83 per cent), India $23.568 million (2.59 per cent), Japan $22.632 million (2.49 per cent), China $15.957 million (1.75 per cent), and Germany $13.313 million (1.46 per cent).
