Freight train services between China and Europe witnessed strong growth from January to May this year, amid rising transport capacity and efficiency. The number of such train services rose by 16 per cent year on year (YoY) during the period to 7,126 trips, according to the China State Railway Group Co Ltd.Around 774,000 20-foot equivalent units (TEU) of goods were transported via these trains during the period—a rise of 31 per cent YoY, the company said.

Around 774,000 TEU of goods were transported via these trains during the period—a rise of 31 per cent YoY.
The number of such train trips increased by 13 per cent YoY in May alone to 1,515. The trains transported about 165,000 TEU of goods—a rise of 29 per cent YoY.
Such services had reached 213 cities in 25 European nations by the end of May.
