To help textile workers and factories, IDH is facilitating industry players to shift operations in order to increase production of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as providing means for current and displaced workers to communicate through an app called Atun. IDH, which is headquartered in Netherlands, is the sustainable trade initiative.

Atun is a free mobile application, rapidly repurposed for the context of COVID-19 crisis from the worker engagement app (WOVO). This app can for example disseminate information to workers regarding COVID-19 health updates, upcoming job opportunities and factory re-openings, government and private welfare efforts, as well as access to re-skilling trainings and other services. The app is live in Vietnam and Indonesia, according to IDH.

IDH is also convening public-private platforms in the textile sector in multiple countries to aid in coordinating a response to the COVID-19 crisis. IDH is also one of the signatories of the statement calling on garment brands and governments for urgent action amid the COVID-19 crisis.
