Konica Minolta has announced that Teruhisa Shimizu, deputy general manager/digital workplace business unit, Konica Minolta, Inc., and Matthew Metnetsky, chief technology/chief architect, Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA, will be presenting at the AWS (Amazon Web Services) summit. The summit will be held from May 30 to June 1, 2018, in Tokyo, Japan.

Konica Minolta had used AWS since 2012 as a cloud service infrastructure, providing office solutions to SME (small-to medium-sized enterprises) customers primarily. But with the launch of the Konica Minolta MarketPlace in 2017, Konica Minolta was able to offer a global, innovative online app store and platform to customers throughout the world. The MarketPlace is one of the larger AWS deployments in the manufacturing industry today.

Teruhisa Shimizu and Matthew Metnetsky will be presenting ‘Building a global MarketPlace with AWS’. In this insightful session, they will discuss how the MarketPlace was designed, developed, and deployed to best deliver business value. Important topics will include architecting over multiple regions, integrating with back-end systems, adjusting for GDPR and key configurations for global traffic routing, deployment strategies, and minimising data storage to reduce costs.

The three-day AWS summit in Tokyo is Japan’s largest cloud computing conference organised by Amazon Web Services, Japan every year. Designed to bring the cloud computing community together to connect, collaborate, and learn about AWS, the summit offers an excellent opportunity for AWS customers to learn more about the platform and architecture best practices. There will be over 150 unique sessions, including keynote lectures and sessions about customer cases, latest technology trends, and cloud service utilisation in a variety of industries and enterprises.
