Our new innovations are always in-line with the growing requirements of textile industry

Today, it has the expertise and experience to provide advanced technologies for winding and packaging systems, end of line automation solutions, including customised units. In a chat with Fibre2Fashion, Yash Textile Machines’ Founder and Managing Director Navin Sharma talks about textile machinery market, innovations, and sustainability.
How would you describe the current state of Indian textile machinery market? Has demand picked up to pre-pandemic levels?
Currently, the industry seems to be in a stable condition. We are wary about the consistency going forward because of the geopolitical scenario.
Which are your major markets in India and abroad?
As we cater to various application areas such as woven, nonwoven, technical textiles, carpets and more, we have consistent business from across India. Furthermore, we export our systems primarily to CIS, Asian and African countries.
Which of your machines are more in demand among the domestic and international clients?
Although we began as manufacturers of machines, over the past many years, the industry is looking upon us as the key solution provider for state-of-art solutions, special lines and system integrators with regards to rewinding and quality control systems, packing automation and more.
What kinds of after-sale services do you provide?
Our highly engineered products and solutions normally have a very low rate of service calls, while at the same time we recommend our customers to maintain spares for critical parts to prevent downtime.
Our in-house customer service team is always hands on available to cater to the customers’ problems and provide online support. Our service engineers travel worldwide and if on site presence is needed, they visit the customers to make sure the machines are in a healthy state.
Are domestic manufacturers in the textile industry keen on ramping up automation or is the work still labour-intensive?
It is a mix of both, but we are noticing a gradual shift in the trend as customers are seeing the benefits of implementing and installing automation systems in their production processes.
What new innovations and technologies are you working towards?
Our new innovations are always in-line with the growing requirements of the textile industry i.e., automation systems as well as modernisation and upgradation of their existing machines to achieve higher productivity and efficiency. At the forthcoming India ITME trade fair in Delhi-NCR, we would be introducing new solutions which will bring major benefits to the textile sector.
How do you incorporate sustainability into your operations and products?
Yash Textile Machines is already providing software solutions such as fault data recording, cut optimisation solution, data management software, and Internet of Things (IoT), which is helping the cause of sustainability in a huge way.
What are challenges that the textile machinery industry encounters?
The major challenge for the textile machinery industry is the inconsistency of the market. Secondly, generally the textile market is price-based rather than value-based, which makes it challenging for machinery manufacturers to constantly invest in technology.
What are the future plans at Yash? Any new product launch or capacity expansions planned in the next few years?
We invite all our customers to visit us at the forthcoming India ITME show in Delhi-NCR, where we would be showcasing smarter machines and solutions which will help the industry to plan now for their factories of the future.
